THE PROBLEM

Families in the North Patterson corridor and surrounding neighborhoods face significant barriers to upward mobility. Limited access to living-wage work, unstable housing, and gaps in support make long-term progress challenging.

 

Progress is difficult when families lack the structure and support to focus on the future.

(NPU)

This 3-year Family Program is launching in 2026 to change that reality. 10 families will receive:

  • Personalized coaching

  • Financial literacy + planning

  • Intentional social-capital building

  • Living-wage career pathways

  • Holistic support in education, economic development, housing, & healthcare.

THE INVITATION

Community Connections is partnering with The Neighborliness Center to raise $675,000 for 10 families to participate in the research-backed NPU Family Program. Over $300,000 raised already!

Your support provides families from Crestwood Gardens and the North Patterson Corridor with full access to NPU, giving them the foundation, guidance, and resources to pursue upward mobility.

 

At the same time, their participation contributes to research that will inform upward-mobility strategies in Winston-Salem and beyond.
